IMP-HB is water based non-toxic, colorless and odorless fire retardant. It is a treatment for interior use of untreated wood and wood products, through the vacuum high pressure impregnation method, dipping method or on location spray method.
As fire retardant treatment IMP-HB can be used on, but not limited to, untreated wood kept from the weather such as pine, bamboo, red cedar, oak, maple, ash, marabou, poplar, southern pine, multiplex, MDF and chipboard.
Materials treated with IMP-HB have very low “heat release” and little contribution to smoke production.
The amount to be applied depends upon the required standard and the type of wood treated. Companies that perform vacuum impregnating are familiar with the recommended application amount for different products. Drying can take place naturally or by using special drying rooms, time required has too many variables to state correctly.
The onsite application by spraying or dipping method is useful and generally less expensive. Drying naturally can take approximately 24 hrs. or longer depending on the climate.
IMP-HB has a neutral ph and is very environmentally friendly and is very user friendly because it is non-toxic and does not irritate the eyes or skin.
