A Non-Toxic, Environmentally Safe Fire Retardant

For use to make natural trees, such as Christmas trees, along with the branches and decorations made from them flame retardant.

IMP-KI is a colorless and odorless liquid solution that is based upon a nitrogen-phosphorus-varnish synergism. It contains no solvents. It is a non-toxic water based varnish solution fire retardant.

When the correct amount of IMP-KI is applied it has no detrimental effect upon the properties of the material. The colors are not affected and it does not cause any mildew.

It is an extremely user friendly product as it is non-toxic, contains no solvents and does not irritate the eyes or skin. The ph value of the product is approximately neutral.

IMP-KI can be applied by spraying or dipping. Because the varnish locks in the flame retardant   with a semi-permanent coating, the surrounding area must be covered when spraying and any spills or over spray must be cleaned up with water and neutral detergent before the product dries.

After treatment the material can dry naturally. The time it takes to dry depends upon temperature, humidity and surface of material treated. Usually within 1-2 days to dry completely.

The quantity needed to properly cover any material of course depends upon the material itself. An average would be 2.2 lbs. of product to cover 3.5 sq. yds to meet the requirements of ISO 6940 and 6941; NEN-EN 1101-1102; NEN 6066; the NF P 92 501 and the BS 476 part 7.

If stored unopened and kept free from freezing and out of direct sunlight IMP-KI can be stored for a year or longer.

Because of the nature of the product and the results of toxicological tests, the product is not harmful or dangerous. Please be careful not to get in contact with food and do not flush down a waste pipe without diluting the product first.
